Hi, I've been on here before when I had issues with electricity supplier. In a nutshell, I have a Landis and Gyr import export meter (solar). Meter has rolled over. Got in touch with Octopus as I can't give a true reading (now) deducting R from T. They have suggested a smart meter to rectify the issue but to have a smart meter I would need a meter move (they said) Wondering if there is another solution to this...? Many thanks all.

I had a similar situation when the old import/export counter did not show correct data after rollover. I contacted the supplier (I don’t have Octopus, but the principle is the same), and they also offered to replace the counter with a smart meter, which was the only solution they officially supported. The problem could not be solved on its own because the calculation of correct readings after rollover was not possible due to the lack of necessary data. In the end, I agreed to replace it because that was the only way to continue giving testimony and correctly account for exports. I think there are no alternatives to a smart meter, if it is important that everything is official and without disagreements on calculations.
