Metering a small supply

Evening,

I’ve got a customer who wants a small DB installed for a couple of lights and an outdoor socket in his container.

His feed (6mm 3core SWA) will be coming from a local business so he needs to know how much electricity he’s using so he can pay his bit.

What’s the easiest way of doing this?

Maybe a DIN rail mounted kWh meter? in the source DB or load end?

I faced the following problem: The easiest way to install a normal single-phase electricity meter is directly after the feed at the input of a small DB. I plugged it into a standard board, output the readings manually, or put the model with remote data capture if it is important to record. This way, you can see exactly how much was spent on lighting and outlets, and the customer can always calculate the payment accurately.

Avoid the cheap little ones though. As the meter will be used to calculate how much is owed it needs to be an MID approved meter.
