Hi all

Ive just purchased a metrel 61557 multitester. Does anyone know if this tester conform with bs7671...or even if it has to ? i was just wondering if this tester i suitable for all testing ? ...or if anyone has one .....is it any good ? ( im just starting on my testing and inspection side of training )

its an install test. Deos yours have the symbols on it like in the manual ? or named/words on the selector part ? ...

N yeah it is too late...lol...but it was goiing mega cheap n thought i would snap it up !!! lol

my manual has symbols and my tester has symbols on it too. There are two manuals about, one for the eurotest and one for the instaltest, sounds like you have the eurotest one. If you want the instaltest one PM me your email address and I'll send you it, it's easier to understand the functions with the correct manual!

Re...Metrel Instaltest 61557. Hi J@mes I'm new to this. I also purchased a cheap unit which came with no manual or software, I've sussed some functions out but a bit puzzled by others. Would you be able to e-mail me a manual.
Thanks in advance.

thanks for the manual mate...but im afriad its the one i already have. My tester ( which states instal test on front) deos not have the symbols such as I(triangle)N...etc...it has 'RCD MAN'.....RCD RAMPTEST...TRIP LOCK...etc ..i have worked out most of it ...insulation etc...but just wonder why this seems to be the only metrel with this sort of labeling ?????

ah right! does your meter look like the one on the front page? or is it a different colour or anything like that? Never seen an instaltest with writing rather than symbols on it!

Not sure then mate, maybe it is one of the last ones they sold before the eurotest came out? If you have a look around for the eurotest manual that might be better as that has words on and not symbols if I remember right!
