Hi folks

Someone I know would like his TV on his wall once his living room has been redecorated. I know there is a minimum height for sockets but is there a maximum?

Rather than take a spur from a nearby socket I could extend the existing ring as his floorboards are already up. Would there be a problem in having a socket approx 6 feet up the wall?

The max height is 1200mm under the DDA regs, but can't quite remember the wording now, but it says something like dedicated supplies i believe is how you can get round it ! ie, the socket is solely for the TV and nothing else. But the other way of looking at it is, are building control getting involved at all ? If not, then who is likely to pull you up on it ?

If a customer requests a socket in a specific place for a specific piece of equipment, then that is where I install it. I have done a few behind plasma tv's in homes. nice neat finish with no cables on show.
