So I was at the wholesalers this morning and there was a chap trying to buy an earth rod - why you may ask? So he can disconnect the CPC back from his summer house so that the RCD in the main house doesn't trip any more! He claimed a sparky told him to do this!

its like them that disconnect/snip the CPCs caus there was a `fault`....lol

Well, clearly for "joe public" difficult, as for the claim a sparky told him to do this.... anyone's guess..... and whether he will call me to go and sort it .... I'm not holding my breath....... but if he does I'll certainly go and look!
