A couple of things to discuss if you're interested. First a video that popped up on my FB feed this morning. My era.

And secondly... something from the same time being sold in my local tescos…
A 5 pack of Maxell blank cassette tapes.
Anyone still got a machine that plays these?

I've still got an old BASF reel to reel and also a casette player Walkman somewhere in the attic.

We're moving house; there is diddly squat in our attic.

Can't get into the garage mind. Found our Commodore 64, Scalextric set & all the kids school books.

I don't think Fools and Horses belong in the Comic Con setting, but thumbs up to a classic clip.

All my old "music centres" got binned. All my old audio and video cassettes are in the garage (400+). No equipment to play them on. Hardy got a CD player in the house now, and the DVD player is actually a waste of a power socket. The Xbox and the PC under the telly can both play them.

I know but he mentioned "era" and posted up some American tat ;o)))))

If you liked that one then have a laugh at this, the ex wife saw it being filmed in Ravenscourt Part when bringing the kids from pre school.

Name dropper.

I was at Pinewood Studios when the Queen visited in 2007, when they were filming Casino Royale, don't you know.

Yea, the 1530 C2N was probably most common

Think the VIC20 had one aswell, alot of machines of the era did

The one and only Commodore machine I owned... the Vic 20.

Switched to an Atari 400 after that and then the Atari ST (still like playing some of the games - emulated though).

And @Massive1 , Grange Hill... The earliest are the best, with Tucker and Co. :)

Funny who should mention Bond, my Aunt worked for Kevin McLory as his PA, he knew Flemming and adapted the Thunderball screenplay, stayed at his place in the Bahamas many years back my other Aunt made dresses for the Queen as she worked for Norman Hartnell as a freelancer and she also worked on Lady Diana's wedding dress.

I have lots of interesting snippets.......

Top Trumps eh old chap........

Back on Topic please and no photos of a nutty choice bar please ;o))))

I drove the last tram in Glasgow...there!

and I have an absolutely amazing Sony ghetto-blaster with twin cassette decks and remote control and removeable speakers, and frankly..it ROCKS sound-wise!
Also plays radio and CDs

You mean a Brixton Briefcase?

I'm still quite attached to it, except I can't find the tape machine :(

You can have the Scalextric's for a modest fee

Is the Scalextric transformer, the big old metalclad one, with a reset button on the top?
I had one of those, and used to trip the reset, with a screwdriver, then use it as an electric detonator, for my ecsplosive experiments (deliberate spelling )

Happy days....now just having the recipe lists,is a 5 year holiday...
