Why do we have to jump through so many hoops and pay out constantly to prove our knowledge?
Had to pay out for a H&S renewal course today, then got ripped off for a further £36 for the ECS card (that nobody has EVER asked to see).
The ECS H&S centre was like a money factory... sparkies trudging in, sat down... multiple choice and out again 15 minutes later. £48 every few minutes thank you very much.
This year we will probably all have to pile back to college and all bow to the new regulations at our cost.
Tired of it and it stops here.
No wonder people dodge these regulations and skirt the system, all it does is bash the conscientious and regulation following on the head.
No more updates for me. Hitting 50 yrs old and I don't need to sit any more exams!
Hmm... it did go a bit ranty

Hmmmm, just paid my scheme fees yesterday, gone up a few quid. I ditched me Trustmark membership this year. None of my customers ever said they found me by it anyway, and for £108, they can shove it.

RANT AWAY .
Awaiting the 18th to see what ridiculous changes they have in mind . Surely they are running out of ideas for improvement .

Departures and comments
This section will be getting a lot more use if the changes made point towards IET revenue purposes over common sense and practicality .

Way of the world, you need to spend a fortune to do a days work.!

Just noticed my Asbestos awareness cert has now expired.... because of course, I completely forget the dangers of Asbestos after 12 months.
Well... its staying expired. If anyone asks for it (never have yet)... Photoshop time

It's ridiculous. All these different renewals involving Health and Safety and Regs, mostly basic.
Comparison....One of the most dangerous aspects of todays life..... how come the DVLA don't demand update by exam of a driving licence every 3 years? ...The general public would go mad.

Well the 18th can go swing... 17th is where I stop.
My son thought about becoming a spark, then bailed when he realised it basically meant going to college constantly all your life.
No wonder they have so much trouble enticing young people into the building trades.
I can pretty much bet that I could function as a business totally fine without any of the proper paperwork. Even certificates mean diddly unless someone actually challenges them or checks up.
Want a certificate madam, hang on, I am sure I have a pad of them I bought off Ebay somewhere.

I blame computers. Designed to save work but in fact create more. The amount of new legislation that has come in over the last 30 years is monumentous. Far easier if we relied on a few monks in a monastery to write out the Regs.

even the forum's tame gorilla could do a better job.
