Really liking the look of all this, I'm 27 now and after years of trying my hand at various different jobs I've finally decided now is the time to join the family business and train to be an electrician. My dad has been a spark for around 30 years so I'm lucky in that sense as I can go on site with him and pick his brains for knowledge however I think a forum like this is invaluable when it comes to learning due to the amount of experienced people on here.
I look forward to using the training side of the forum for advice and help with anything I'm not sure on from my course. I think I will be ok with the practical side of things but I've heard a lot of talk about formulas and maths and that really is my weak point!
As for competitons etc, that sounds a great idea, prizes etc don't motivate me too much as quite frankly picking up knowledge from top sparks is enough but it's certainly a bonus.
Cheers
