Does anyone out there know if uk niceic contracting companies quote for and carry out installations in the republic of ireland under there niceic registration is this acceptable

To the best of my knowledge no they can't.The companies must be registered with one of the Irish ones. There are only 2 RECI and ECSSA. I know some of the firms based in the north of Ireland are registered both side of the border. Don't let this put you off doing a job over here, the two companies above will come out and test and certify it for you(for a fee of course).Insurance might be an issue but that is something your insurance company can deal with.

Hope this helps

Heres RECI's contact details, you'll find they're very helpful to contractors coming over from the UK
