SDS drill 110v or bat

just looking to buy a sds drill and cant decide if to buy a cordless one or 110 and a transformer,
whats opinion?

domestic, i just want it to do everything really and its because i dont have one

If you're domestic I'd go a 240v corded to be honest.

I wouldn't get a battery one unless you're going to spend big bucks.

A nightmare scenario, I do a lot of large domestic and commercial so couldn't decide on either corded or cordless. I ended up buying a 110v corded and transformer for site work and a 36v Cordless for domestic to save having to lug out the transformer and leads every time. However to be honest I tend to use the 36v Hilti for domestic and commercial now as I can never be bothered rigging up the transformer. Only really use the corded if drilling over 20mm.

If you are mainly drilling 5.5-16mm holes I would just buy a good cordless.

OK but I can't see you doing a lot of site work if you're domestic...... if you are doing site work though you will need to go 110, and again I'd go with the corded, even if you have to lug a transformer round to most of your work. Do you know you can get a fairly decent 240v for the price of a transformer?

whats the cordless ones like for small bits of chassing? and drill holes through walls

Corded drills don't need charging and are considerably cheaper.

Cordless drills don't need to be plugged in and you don't need to run cables everywhere.

If you're going to be using it all day everyday I'd go for a corded so you don't need to keep recharging the batteries. For medium use I'd go for a cordless so it's quick and easy to pick up and use. For very light use I'd go for a corded because they're cheaper and I could handle the effort of running cables, plugging in etc if it's only every now and again.
