Ross that is a load of negitives and only one for the plus side, i for one will steer clear. It was looking a the kewswith part p tester the other day only £277 plus vat from electicfix. A price that if it gets stolen/ breaks after the warrenttee period - would not leave you too upset. ANy one used one and what are they like ie any good?

Martin.

Sorry bout typing have baby on my lap.

I've got / had a Kewtech KT64 which I really like, I know they're seen as cr**. I does everything my Megger 1552 did but it works... Unlike my Megger 1552 which I had problems with from day 1.

I do have a slight problem... sent the KT64 off you calibration and the wholesalers have lost it:mad:, and I've get the yearly NIC assessment tomorrow. I phone round all the hire places and they're all out of testers.

So if anyone in the North Suffolk area fancies lending me a multitester for £50 just for tomorrow (14/01/09) morning I'd be really gratefull. I do have a seperate continuity / ir tester so if you've got a earth loop & rcd tester!

Many Thanks
Jim

Well...
Spent all day hunting for a multitester… Managed to call in a favor off a mate (Paul) who kindly lent me his Megger separates.:D
Then my colleague decided to tell me he had one… so why does he always borrow mine and why didn’t he tell me???
And then… The wholesales decided to phone me up to say my KT64 is back and would I like to collect it:mad::mad:.

I have only used the Megger 1553 but works great for me. And the chap that did my calibration commented that Meggers have by far the least faults, if that's of interest...

Pennywise - where did you get that cracking deal on your tool insurance with PI ? The quotes I have got are nothing like as good!

Sorry to hear about the nicked Fluke - agree with all the others have said. Maybe keep a dummy one in the van which explodes when turned on :D
