It may have been mentioned before, but when I searched I couldn't find anything.
The notifications obviously show any likes, pm's etc, but is there any way to be notified when someone thanks your post?
if not, why not?!

I don't think there is. TBH I'm not sure why there's likes as well as thanks, I think the likes thing is an extra 'add-on' to the forum which usually comes standard with the thanks/reputation system. On a standard forum board you can view which posts have been thanked and every thanks you get adds to your reputation. On this one your thanks count appears below your avatar and you can view only the posts which have been liked.
