Just watched an interesting sparkyninja video called "should we just stop using type AC RCD's?" highlighting the issues in using them, and the slightly ambiguous phrasing used in bs7671.
Just wondered what others thought about it, and what if anything you were doing?

To be honest looking at boards they seem to still be selling boards with ac rcds in them. The only brand I know of that has changed is hager. Cant be much going on if the manufacturers haven't changed yet as if it was needed they would be jumping on the band wagon to charge more money.

Don’t quite understand why they haven’t just kicked type A and AC RCDs into touch, and ramped up production of type B?

I was thinking that spin. If you read the gumpf from hager they ste saying to using type a but possibly use type, what ever the letter for kitchens and utilities cos of the appliances found in there. Just seems as though a one size fits all type is needed.
