When fitting an extractor fan bear in mind that it may need replacing at some stage, and siliconing it into the ducting is a tawts move.

Had a day of stunts like that...a property i let,has a "handy" tenant...E14 lamps in downlighters with the caps wrung off, chrome switch plates nailed everywhere, switches and isolators emulsioned stuck and a dryer under the stairs, venting through, into the subfloor...

If i did do crack...i'd be doin' a shed load tonight...

Seen bathroom extractors vent from a false ceiling (with umpteen open backed downlights in it) into the real ceiling above before, but never the sub floor. Hope the timbers are all good. Crack sounds good... I'm off to Hendon (dodgy part o town round here)!!

I used to know someone who painted straight over light switches and sockets. Not just the sides of them - right over the whole things!! Looked terrible. Daz

That's a real pet hate of mine. I know a decorator that occasionally comes after me on jobs and is sloppy as hell. I bought him a roll of making tape as a hint!

any decorator worth a brushfull of magnolia would lift the accessories off and paint/paper behind them.

This bloke is ex council mate, if you stood still for 5 minutes he would paint you! He always amazes me though in that he never gets any paint on himself!

he's not atime served painter then.if he was, he'd be covered in paint. his van would be spattered all inside with gloss white over purple emulsion, and his missus would have orange hair.

...i've a feeling you may know such a painter,and these salient facts betray a story....care to share,Tel?
