Personally I don't pronounce it at all as I don't use anything but the genuine orange - lever jobbies

I'm in the same boat, perhaps to my detriment, but I just don't trust other push in connectors.

But you should call them generic push-fit or lever arch electrical connectors.

The push fit splice ones that Ideal make have been my goto for a couple of years rather than crimps. Only now have Wago caught up with an option with their through lever connectors....

These were the cause of a ring final circuit continuity fault, ditched them fault gone. Awful things.

They've always seemed a fairly good fit when I've tried, though there is the issue of fixing them in place, which you can't do in the same way as a usual Wagobox. I don't like the blue Ideal boxes much, they don't work well with anything more than 1.5mm

My main usage for them has been when extending short cables in a back box, where they can be checked.

They do take some practise to get the angles right for a tight fit, so I can see how they could be poorly fitted.

The new Wago through splices are much easier so they may become the new choice , even if they are a bit more expensive

We try and use reputable brands and whilst it could be argued they are being pushed by companies like Toolstation devalues them. Same with any CEF own brands, BG etc....
