Hi,

I was looking at my dishwasher and it has this metal plate with these markings.

I am confused about the meaning of "10/16A" - does that mean it uses a 10A fuse or a 16A fuse?
Also, I am guessing that there are two sets of values (230V - 2,3kW - 10/16A vs 240V - 2,5kW - 13A). I wonder how you know which fuse it should use, given that
"In the UK, the declared voltage and tolerance for an electricity supply is 230 volts -6%, +10%. This gives an allowed voltage range of 216.2 volts to 253.0 volts".

Just curious, not doing any work on it :)

In simplistic terms the resistance is constant but power (kw) will change proportionately with the applied voltage. So for 230v the power is 2.3kw and for 240v it is 2.5kw. The 10A fuse satisfies 230v and the 16A fuse satisfies 240v, I suspect 13A fuses which would satisfy both is not included as they are generally unique to the UK.

Thanks.

The 13A is there, after the // mark. So I think that indicates that he 13A is appropriate for 2.5kW at 240V, which makes sense.

So, where it says 10/16A, that means that either 10A or 16A can be used? It's just confusing, 10A should be enough, so why even mention 16A.
