What does D L N mean on a ignitor?

I presume L is live and N is neutral, but what does D mean?

It's the connection to the centre terminal on the lampholder to make the lamp work.

i believe it stands for discharge but are not that certain had a few of these in metal halide up lighters the banks love these fittings make great insect or killers in the summer
