Okay, so the other day I spotted a couple of people chatting about who they follow and how that happened. Over the years the forum software makers have changed this area of the software a couple of times. It never really gets used by forums setup as actual forums. There are some websites that use the forum software to create social media sites, some dating sites even, and those use this area of the software well.
So I thought I'd show you that bit of the forum so you can crack on with that if you want.
If you click your name, when you're on any page, you get a link to 'News Feed'. That's like a news feed on any social media site, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. So people you follow will end up with content on that page for you. So you can keep track of their content first.
I've had a look, to see if it's worth adding that part of the search system to the 'Whats New' page/tab. And not enough people follow each other really. So if you click Whats New - Then in the sub menu you will see News Feed there.
Looks like this on a laptop.
See the link in the grey sub-menu?
I seem to follow a few heads.
Can't remember following them though!
So to add people to your own news feed, follow them. Click on their name in a post, or visit their profile, and click Follow
You can click unfollow on them to remove them.
So that's that.

It's also worth noting that you can hide your profile to people other than those who follow you: https://www.electriciansforums.net/account/privacy
And then comment on each others profiles and stuff. And that too then becomes a bit like a social media site.
If you guys ever use this a bit more, I don't mind then adding more 'boxes' around the place that show you content from only users who follow you, and users you follow.
But as it's not used that much I haven't set them up. We could sort of make this a social media site for sparks, that has a forum on it. But to be fair I'm unsure if I like that thought! lol
