Is there an app for android?

If not which is a cheap and cheerful to buy for personal use ?

No there isn't an app because mobile phones don't have metal detectors built in to them.

What exactly are you wanting to achieve?
None of these devices are 100% reliable and are affected by many variables, especially cheep and cheerful ones.

I'm doing level elec course. So km going to use one to do some experimental drilling . Put cameras up etc...for family etc.

Just kind of get some basic experience. But then use it in the future too when I need to.

However don't have the money to buy a really expensive one.

In my personal experience any i have ever seen anyone use are useless and pick up everything and anything, except when there's actually a cable there and they don't pick it up. You just have to work it out as best you can with safe zones or bottom of pipes going into walls etc and hope some idiot hasn't ignored everything and zig zagged the wall with cables!

I have a cable and metal detector that works very well. It was made well before the beginning of this century, and the only identification on it is "The Protector". Works far better than any more modern version that I've tried.

I had a Bosch one years ago someone gave me that was pretty good and could to some extent tell you the depth of the concealed service.
Used it about twice in 25 years and that was when I got given it!
