Came across this video....bet they found some interesting things under the floorboards!

Saw on news they found old newspaper and cigarette packaging from queen victorias reign. apparently some of the cabling is still in use from back then! no wonder they are replacing it.
I hope Her Majesty has checked the electricians are part p approved mind and she gets her certificate at the end of it, don't want to come on forum next month to find Elizabeth from Windsor asking about getting no certificate for the works on her home in London!

They can’t really complain - it’s got conduit for all the runs, Still, I get that it does get classed as a ‘live in’ - let the banter begin!

The contractors are by Royal Appointment and they have a specialist firm in for the chandeliers....

how dare you refer to our queen as granny Clampet? granny Clampet was much prettier.

Well I'm truly surprised Phil didn't come one here looking for advice to do it himself. Maybe he's holding out for when Liz wants Nest / Hive / Honeywells effort.
No....they’ll instruct the butler to go and turn the heating off or on!

Those are some very well dressed electricians pulling those wires in.
well they will be. probably southerners on £80/hour. queenie can afford such extravagance.

he can always get Delboy and Rodney to fit it.

I strongly suspect stooges and stages, for the vid...

I also suspect either full access to floors/areas,or,if single rooms, then a giant basket of Wagos...

Either way,i refer back to something i was told as a kid...Believe nothing you hear - and only half of what you see ;)

I used to have dealings with the Telecoms maintenance side of things for the Palace of Westminster and would visit 3 or 4 times a year to liaise with their people.

Got to given a couple of "behind the scenes" guided tours and it was fascinating to see all the hidden passageways, staircases and such like, plus hear some of the insider gossip about the some the more famous MP's etc...

...I went on a school nature trip, and got to ask David Bellamy a question...
Can better that. In Bristol a few years ago in a cafe on Whiteladies Road just along from the BBC. I was in a cafe getting lunch and got chatting to Sir David Attenborough. He was in Bristol as the natural history stuff was or may still be based there.
Found him to be one of the most approachable, humble sincere people I ever met. He is one of those people you could spend a lifetime talking too as he has seen so much. I had recently come back from holiday in South Africa and talked about the evil people doing caged hunting of the big 5 and poaching.
I had to leave the cafe as I had to get to back to work but it was one of the best lunch breaks I have had.

Me old man house had the vulcanised singles in slip conduit, before he had it rewired in the 1960's. The cable was in good nick, just poor at the terminations, where somebody had been messing with it ;)

And some very highly qualified engineers (it appears), getting their hands dirty, pulling cables.

Typical bosses, mention cameras and they all want to help out.

I muck in with the best of them still, although you wont find me in a shirt an pants if I know i'm going to be doing hands on work.

In fact the only real time I'll dress up like that is for sales meetings an I'm being forced.

You bosses are all the same. Thinking about, me being the boss of my company, I muck in all the time :)
