I've had a search, and found an old thread from 2016... but was wondering about modern views on this situation.

I've come into possession of several meters of white fp200, 2.5mm which i was thinking of using to extend an external socket (off a 13A fused spur), down the fence to my shed. Then into another socket, switch, and baton LED light inside the shed....

Clipped along the top rung support of the fence, rather than the bottom where it might get struck by the strimmer.

Would white fp200 be affected by UV?

If this was for a customer i'd insist on SWA or hituff.... but its just for me.

Don't worry about what type of cable to use,, anything will do.

After a year or two, it would be a good idea to do some regular checks.
use the following formulae to figure out how damaged the insulation is.

on weekly inspection

1 dead bird ...... probably coincidence
2 or more dead birds, could just be an outbreak of avian flue. probably still ok
several dead birds, and / or larger mammals like foxes or cats ....... might be worth getting the ladder out for a proper look.

one or more teenagers with black hoodies, just collect the bag containing next doors jewellery and return it. dig a large hole and drop the hoodies and there contents in it and cover with a nice flowerbed.

have a beer and pat yourself on the back for your good deed to the community.

I don’t think the neighbours would appreciate me burying their teenagers….

My fence only backs onto gardens… no public areas.

Red fp200 gold and white FP200 from Pyrsiiam are both UV rated.
That said they both eventually show signs of being outside and I used to avoid using them uneneclosed.
