Hi guys is there an alternative way of extending a cable surface mounted or otherwise other than a junction box?

Just in general guys lets start with a 2.5 t & e 10m spur and ive got a 9m cable and a 1m how would u go about turning those into 1.

Only crimps can be completely hidden, screw terminals must be always accessible. Box with blank plate is normally a winner but depends on environment, construction and utilisation. That's the first time that's come in handy since college!

Ezzzkiel thank u mate I was expecting 1000 stupid replys of start again with a new bit that cut correct blah blah nice to get straight answer for once.

if you are using uninsulated crimps and heatshrinks if you stagger the joints with practice you can get it to almost the same size as the original cabling.

Not entirely true, soldered and heat shrink is another and more *sniff* "professional" way. :smug2::smug:

.......... and stagger the joints as in post #8 ;)

Do apologise..
Though the day I see an electrician solder and heat shrink a 2.5 t+e I shall eat that big green book!
I suggest they have an extra dsso handily where the end of the cable is just long enough for :p

If you had been here last week you could have watched me solder & heat shrink a 1.5 t+e.

Maybe I'll send you a PM next time I do one & you can come with your big green book to watch ???

Shirley you can't be serious? Yes please do, I'll bring a butchers knife to spread that ketchup so we can both be doing unnecessarily over the top things at the same time! :)
