Ok, I know things have been changing here but it seems that every other thread is a complete farce. Most of them are being continued way past their sell by date too.

I think I'm going to sit in the pub for a while. Really, I CBA with it all but now and then there's something decent started so maybe I'll pop out now and then for a read.

I still prefer this forum to any other, but, we do get some dribblers on here...and thats the nicest way to possibly put it.

Not sure what could be / can be done. Probably nothing...think i'll join you in the pub steve and drown my sorrows...10pints of lager and a pack of salted peanuts please.
 
Agree steve, even the DIYers are giving us grief now LMAO, I will try to stick it out, but I'm getting tired quickly
 
a diy forum, " diy'ers post your questions here" might be the way forward.

It needs a "special area" where we can hide from the riff-raff - somewhere where you can't get into unless you have 3,000 posts (or thereabouts). :lol:

I went into a gaybar in newcastle unknowingly, and im not knocking gaybars or gays at all...each to their own. All im saying, is that you geordies are definitley special and different.

Some bird told me i was in the "pink zone" and then about 10minutes later, completley oblivious as to what she meant...about 3000 transgender men walked in. I even saw a bloke dressed as a "slutty cruella deville" :shocked:

Thats not even mentioning the guy dressed as beetlejuice - with the face paint and the black and white stripey top...whats so wrong about that i here you ask, well the top half was fine but viewing downwards all i saw was suspenders - looked left and noticed a post saying "all male jacuzzi upstairs" I panicked, necked my pint and legged it.

Looking back, i bet that beetlejuice dude was you wasn't it Geordie, and the slutty cruella deville was Trev :38: Had some laughs up your end ill tell you lol

It was near the Jurys Inn thats all i know, couldn't really tell you what it was called - but, Geordie i swear i didn't realise what i was getting myself into walking in their! lol

Aye that's the gay area of Newcastle.

Back in the day, the site that the Jurys Inn is built on was the cattle market where the farmers sold their sheep & cows.

Next to that, towards the railway, was the slaughter house, and the places that are now gay bars were the meat wholesalers. After the marked closed down, it became a car park, and the slaughterhouse was demolished & the site had a car showroom built on it which is now one of those self-service storage places (I think).

It's just part of local history mate, right in the middle of Times Square where the centre for life is (which is, among other things, a cutting edge centre for medical research) there's a little stone building dating from 1605 which is where the offices for the cattle market were based.

Anyone staying in the Jurys inn must think Newcastle is a dispirited place to drink. I mean the only pubs round there are Gay bars (Not knocking) but if you looking for birds then your not going to have much action.

I remember speaking to a group of lads when i was in Cyprus couple years ago and they did exactly that and stayed in them bars all night..

aye I'm learning, daughter had a friend from newcastle who was working down here she was made up meeting me as I was the only one she could have a decent yap with,even impressed that I knew how to pronounce the place.lol

I remember when they were building the site where centre for life is there was 1000's of bodies under there, Turns out it was a mass grave from years ago..

Dates back to the time of the plague. There's also a mass grave under South Shields market place from the same period, Hermann Goering's boys discovered it by mistake while bombing the docks which are no longer there.

look like every post has some one on the troll think the pub may be the place to hide the 3000 plus posts just locks out good people who dont post often like my self but the forum is not what it was a year ago
