    I'm currently not registered with my scheme provider as I have been off work for some time, returning back next month. just getting my head round the changes for bs7671 18th edition amendment 2

    That's my thinking too. its an alteration to the configuration of the C.U. ( retro fitting mcb protection,SPD module and associated link cables)

    thank you loz I am aware of what you stated, just wondered if the addition of a SPD is classed as notifiable as your adding MCB protection for the SPD and reconfiguring the C.U. For example If you change the size of protective device for an existing circuit this is deemed notifiable. So...

    Light neutral ( via 20-60Va transformer) was looped from neutral at timer fan junctionjbox via neutral from 3 pole isolator switch

    Impossible for me to now say if the loose neutral connection was the only fault and the fan/light transformer were not actually faulty. It could have been, fortunately, for the customer, they wanted a more powerful mixed flow fan fittng anyway.

    all connections were correct as i say apart from the loose neutral found on 3pole isolator

    as stated the fan and shower light are now working as normal, after loose neutral connection was found.

    to add the fan isolator switch when turned off stopped the fan & light dead ( before fault correction)
