    running cable near copper pipes

    I have to run some 6mm cable behind some copper pipes to a cooker switch and socket on the wall. Obviously I can't chase it into the wall behind the pipes, so is it acceptable to put an extra piece of cable sheath between the cable and the copper pipes to protect the cable? Thanks.
