siting smoke detectors
evening everyone,can anybody help me,today the building inspector has pulled me up on fitting smoke detectors between some 3"x2" beams @ a barn conversion i have just wired,they are mounted directly on the plasterboard ,he wants me to bring them flush with the beams,cant find anyting in...- smithmeister

Smoke Detectors - Own Circuit or Lighting?

local authority smoke alarms
Hi Guys ,friends house was rewired 3 yrs ago.........contractor installed 3 x mains powered smoke detectors with battery back up smoke detectors which can can be tested and silenced via double gang test switch...........problem ocurrs approx 9pm each evening ..........sounders start blasting...- frankmac

Smoke detectors + 17th edition
Doing a rewire at the mo , its my 1st one under the new regs , going to use a 17th edition double split RCD board , are the mains smokes ok to go on one side of the board ? or do they need to go on there own RCBO Cheers Ste- stevie h
