PA Testing surge protection extension lead

Try not to do PA Testing but had to do it today! Was doing the above today after a cottage got flooded. Lead didn't appear to be wet, but failed the insulation test @ 0.7Mohms, this was at a test voltage of 250V. Re-tried it with my installation tester at 100V and 50V and got the same...

    Insulation resistance query

Hi, quick question for you all, do u think it is posssible to have an ins res reading of 0.02 on live earth of a lighting circuit which includes em. lighting but neutral earth is above 10 megohms ? There is low voltage track lighting also installed on the circuit. Also can anyone explain the...

    Voltage continuity tester

Can anyone recommend a good voltage and continuity tester? Nothing fancy but audible continuity test would be handy. And perhaps with a carry case? The NICEIC assessor wasn't too impressed 18months ago with the state of mine and I must be due a assessment again soon..... i think it may have...

    Stupid question? Re. Insulation resistance

If when carrying out a "whole instalation" test from L+N to Earth the result is say 50 Megohms, and there are ,say,5 circuits would that mean that ALL the circuits pass the test or do each one still need testing?

    Insulation resistance and continuity meter

I'm thinking of buying a combined IR and continuity meter for fault finding on domestic and commercial installations. I'd like something that's smaller, lighter and easier to handle than my Fluke MFT and fairly robust. It would also act as a partial backup in the event that the MFT is out of...
