    This question has been raised several times in the past, I thought it was now a requirement, but there still seems to be some confusion in the industry, or at least with me. 18th Edition now says you need to be skilled to complete EICR, but that does not make CPS a requirement.     JIB Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) You do not have to be employed by a JIB member to apply for a JIB grade.

    Trying to fill out my ECS gold card application online with their website app, it tells me I need to be endorsed? I do work for a jib member company but on a self-employed basis. So my question is do I have to be endorsed?
