Hi. I recently bought an electrical ceramic heater which was described as class 2. Now I've opened the packaging, I can see that the rating plate rather bizzarely shows an earth symbol, but states its class 2 (without a double box symbol)! The cable is 2 core. Waiting on reply from the supplier...

I know it's only a C3 but I've been to quote jobs where previous electricians have told the client that they have to get it replaced to comply with current regulations which is false and basically scaring the client to get more work. I'm pretty sure that's not the case, as its only recommended...

My house was built in 1968 and still has the original fuse box with wired fuses.
I want an electrician to add to the existing ring main a new spur for a combi boiler and a new dual 13A outlet.
Is it correct that in order to comply with the current regs the fuse box will have to be replaced by...
Hi,
I need a new pully-switch to turn on my shower but the Electrician said it would be against company policy to fix it,as I have an old fuse box that doesn't have the shut off element to it.Would this be right,? If so,is there no cheaper way of doing it,without a whole new fuse board please,?

Todays subject is an update on my dad, and a newly discovered medical treatment for high blood pressure…
That is… having a stroke.
He’s been in hospital 3 weeks now, his blood pressure is within normal range, and he’s off the BP pills he’s been on...

Well, I've had my new Transit for a few weeks now. It's only done aound 3000 miles so far but what do I think of it? Let's put it this way, if I could have my old Transit back I would. So, what's wrong with the new one? Well, I still hate the 'square' steering wheel. The fuel tank is a lot...

I have an issue every now and then at home.
Sometimes (at least once a month) some dog has decided to leave a pile of poo on the access way that separates the houses and garages.
I think more often than not, it is dogs that are let out to roam whilst there owners are out in their gardens etc...
Good morning I'm after a new battery operated SDS drill.
I currently have a Bosch SDS hammer drill 240v that I bought 10-15 years ago for home use, however after being in Electrical vehicle engineering, I'm now doing L3 Electrical Installation and realised I'm going to need a battery SDS. I...
Don't know if it's relevant, an intentional change, or a different minor bug completely, but when clicking on "what's new", there's a small section, titled "5 Popular Electricians Tools Thread" that has recently appeared before the list of new posts.
Laptop running Windows 10 and Chrome.
Needs explaining doesn't it that title.
We have a new type of moderation system. Maybe that's the wrong word. It's more or a "content checker" who clears all posts as they read them.
So I need 10 positions filling. (More explanation below but need see the images and the new wording "check" and...
I want to wiring in some new lights in an old shed I have. There’s an existing light switch for the toilet that powers a light, a fan and fan isolator, and it works fine. The shed can be dark in winter and I want to put a couple of lights in it with a switched light for the outside, and a light...
