Pump tripping rcd
Just tested a rain water pump with my portable appliance tester & it tested ok (earthing & insulation resistance). Plug it into the power point & it trips the rcd as the pump starts. The power point is fine have meggered the wiring etc. Any ideas?:confused:- 240sparks

Testing two CU's in one house
Quite a simple Q really - how would you go about testing an installation where you change the main CU but don't change the 'sub main' powering an extension. Commericial Jobs, Do i need to test?
Hi ive been asked by a mate of a mate to do the electrical work in this office and workshop. Things like add extra sockets, change lights possibly some 3 phase work etc When i do these jobs do i need to get it tested?
