Hi everyone.

I'd appreciate your advice. I have just started out as a sound system installer and have previously always installed low impedence 8ohm systems. I have now been asked to install a 100 volt line system. Are there any regulations as far as you are aware stopping me doing this without 17th edition/part p or any other requirements you are aware of.

I would appreciate any advice you could give me,

regards

Andy

To work in someone elses house on the mains you need either part P or notify building control local council before work commences.

Hi Andy

If the system is just being plugged in then you dont need anything that I am aware of. The regs only come in to force when you are changing things ie new circuits special locations.

Part-P won't apply to a sports centre and its low current (i.e. not mains so dont think elec regs apply but watch out for fire regs etc when drilling holes.....

BTW what system are you installing? anything exciting?
