If the company that you work for is a member of one of the schemes or an NICEIC Approved Contractor they must hold a copy of BS7671 ask if you can borrow it so at least you can be competent in applying it. I think there is a download of it on the forum.
 
I feel like I’m the odd one out here, I like to be as up to date as possible.

Another way of looking at it is, would it be acceptable for an electrician who trained in say 1984 to the 15th edition to not update his or her skills and knowledge and still be trading.
Whilst I think most feel it’s an expense they don’t want to pay, but these things cost to be re-written and someone has to pay for it.

Perhaps people would feel less cynical if the IET didn't leave umpteen blank pages of "notes" towards the back of each new edition of BS7671 it thrusts upon us...

Its about cash...nothing else
