Discuss 2.5mm doubled up on 4 core in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

2.5mm 4 core swa clipped direct but 2 core used as line and 2 Neutral swa as earth acceptable?

As long as the SWA calculations is ok for the earth then its ok to parralel up the cores in the 4 core for L & N. Label up the cores correctly though.

As far as I know this is frowned upon...

Why mate?

As Spoon has said, as long as all calcs andtest are ok then perfectly acceptable.

Why mate?

Frowned upon ? Although it may comply , I always got the feeling among fellow sparks pairing up cores in a multi core cable is a bit naff

if it's PME, the SWA armour will not comply as a bonding conductor if such is required.

Its only a parallel circuit in one cable.
