Hi hope someone can help , I did my 2360 parts 1&2 between 1998 & 2001

I have the following part 1 units
Electrical installation theory part 1 assignments- pass
Electrical installation theory part 1basic installation practices and technology pass
Associated electronics technology - pass

I have the following part 2 units
Electrical installation theory part 2 -assignments - pass
Electrical installation theory part 2 - installation, commissioning and fault diagnosis- pass
Level 3 certificate in electrical installation theory part 2 - electrical science and principles- credit
All are unit credits towards and not actual full certificates

can anyone of the same era confirm if I have all parts or am I missing some ?
I’ve got my 2391 and 18 th edition and have worked in the industry for 20+ years
Thanks in advance

maybe submit to JIB and see if you can get a gold card.

Not without AM2 apparently. I have the same qualifications and tried to get a gold card but was told I need to do the AM2. I'm 58 and don't really need it as I don't work on sites, just thought it would be nice to have...
If the OP needs the actual certificates, city and guilds can supply copies for a fee.

I appreciate your reply Tbh I’m not looking to get a gold card it’s more the case of ensuring I have all parts covered from when I did the 2360 ?

Hi Vinny I have the same problem, I did 2360 pt 2 Awarded August 1999, and only have unit credit certificates (1 x cert for both exams and 1x cert for assignments) and not an overall award. I thought I may have lost it so paid for a replacement, but they are only unit credits and not full award. I did pass everything. Looks like an error at C&G, as my Pt 1 does have an overall certificate. Did you rectify at all? Thankyou.

I dont get all this obsession with qualifications, no-one apart from the holder is really interested. I suppose if you go after a job you really really want or its very specialised area then I suppose loads of qualifications are needed but we get decent money and decent work at the moment based on no more than we don't leave the walls and ceilings full of holes when we are done.

We don't need to do endless qualifications to keep ourselves in work, our skills get us the work we need. As a caveat I'm not sure how hard it is to get "part P" nowadays but it cant be that hard, they want the £500 badly.

There is no 'getting' Part P - it's not a qualification it's a building reg. To notify under it you need to be a member of a scheme and you can't do that without said qualifications.

You knew what I mean though, we are "part P" everyone asks if you are "part P" and they all want their "part P certificate". I was just keeping it simple, that's whay it was in inverted commas.

As for "part P" qualifications, I'm not up to speed as what you currently need, when I joined when it all first kicked off in 2004 or whenever it was you didn't really need anything, I had a 16th edition and 2391 but I don't think you even needed them, all I had to do was show the NIC guy a couple of jobs. After that I've just had to update to 17th and then 18th, thats it.

I can even take a year or so out of it and still get back in as long as I've had an inspection in the last 2 years, that's what NAPIT told us anyway. So as for new joiners I have no idea what they need, I've heard you need AM2 which is nuts just so you can wire a couple of sockets for Dorris.

Yep you need NVQ and AM2 now

Hi, just in case applicable to you. If you changed college for Part 1 and Part 2 you likely have two different candidate numbers on C&G system (i.e. thinks you are two different people). Newer college should have merged them. Part 2 Handbook indicates a Part 1 Assignment component to be completed (which you have). C&G can't merge and award it now as qualification is no longer certificated. This is what I think problem is if you have moved to a different college for Pt 2. Thanks
