Getting involved with electrolyser systems.
Korean manufacture.
They cannot seem to clearly tell me if the 25VDC @ 14,000 Amps they use in the system will or will not injure or kill?
Any thoughts welcome.

Regards,
Mal

25V DC will not kill or injure you, you would not feel anything.
But a serious burn from a short circuit arc at 14000A is highly likely.

Must point out that touching the terminals of the 24V DC supply whilst disconnecting it could result in an electric shock if the circuit is inductive or capacitive, so be careful.

It can kill in other ways i would assume, if like a welding rig with a faulty or lose earthing clamp if one side of the electrolyser ELV is to be grounded then in a faulty or broken connection situe it may be the case it tries to find an alternative route utilising the mains cables, its the fires, faults etc caused by this that can kill, it can melt and burn out the earthing of other circuits also melting the cables touching them and in soe cases making live other equipement if not the electrolyser itself.
The welding industry has a high aqccidental death rate compared to other industrial trades, im not sure how the electrolyser works in a control system way, i do undertand the theory behind it but its my thoughts behind the subject. Also it would explain why they refuse to say if it is dangerous.

Electrolysis systems are often earth free. That said there’s always leakage through spilt electrolyte.

One system I worked on was 100V, we didn’t tell the operators that there was +45V and –55V to earth. No need to worry them, they wore rubber gloves.
