Seeing as the 'That' thread is now closed, just wanted to say I understand how you feel if the dog is poorly, as you may guess by my Avatar I am Dog lover and have had many, and lost many, so good luck dude.

Last night was last night and best left there.

cheers mate, had him back at vets today,i thought its was his hip as he was unsteady on his feet, well turns out he's had a stroke, vet seems to think he should be ok'ish,he's not in pain, got a week of steriods and some drug that increases oxygen to the brain,he seems a bit brighter now,vet reckons if he seems better in the next week or so he should be ok...he is knocking 14 now so he's getting on a bit..the dog not the vet.:cheesy:
got him a nice big steak for his tea,12 quids worth i think he wants it now as hes sitting at the cooker..

cheers again jb..

here's hoping he pulls through. split the steak in half , though , so he's got something to look forward to tomorrow.

good luck with your dog mate,as you know I had lost a dog recently then got another one.Hopefully you won,t have that problem for a good while yet.

Ours recovered from two major strokes (the first very quickly, the second (about a year later, a little slower) and then lived to the ripe old age of 14 (GSD/Lab cross).

he had his steak, all of it..none for me,seems to be drinking a bit more water than he normally does, just a few more licks than he did,do the steriods do this...despite his age he's never been bad before,so this is all new to me..

I can't comment other than to say I hope yer dog gets better mate.

All The Best.

I seriously thought my dog would have to have the bullet earlier in the year, instead he had his second eye removed and is happier then ever.
It amazes me how dogs just shut up and get on with it, always seem to bounce back.

My brother's dog was put on steroids a while back and his water intake went up massively so I'd say it's an effect of them. If you're worried give the vet a quick call, they usually don't mind.
Hope he pulls through mate
