Has anyone got a recommendation for some rods?
I've been using a cheap Draper set, but they have broken twice this week at the joins, so I think it is about time I got a decent set.
Any thoughts?

I use the silverline ones, they are probably the same as yours. I get a year or 2 out of a set, and at about £15 think that is good value. I dont mind breaking cheap ones now and again, but i would cry if i broke a super rod rod, cos they cost an arm and a leg, and they do break.

Cheers.........Howard

I have had a set of super rods for about 2 1/2 years and yet to break one. they have got cable out of a lot of nasty holes for me. (also managed to retrieve a set of keys out of a drain!) would not leave home without them

Me too. I do find the ends pull off, but superglue works wonders.

I have had the mega set of super rods for over two years now and have added to them with various accessories. only managed to break one so far and that was due to me being a div bending it over its limit and some :D

I lost 8 in one sitting under a pub floor:mad:

I did a full set in of the cheaper ones under the floor of the queens in Jarrow. all the ends either fell off or the rod snapped within hours of unwrapping them. took them back to the wholesalers on the monday and they said they could not replace faulty ones once they were open??????? how the hell would i know they were faulty if I had not opened the dam things?

didn`t want a replacement set just got the cash back after a bit of a to do and the threat not to pick up 5 grands worth of gear we had ordered.

i got a set off ebay for £5 + postage, and so used to the cheap n cheerful ones at that price not too worried if the odd ones break, mind you had this set for a year, why is it i always end up losing the lid off the top, every time.

I best email the seller for some commission then :D not mine by the way. best bits all the bits fit on top of the rods perfect as well.

yep but you look like your off fishing for trout when you get them from the back of your van ;).

Another good idea I've seen is using a snooker cue case, if you've got an old one knocking about.
