The ones I have used are only really good for thermalite type block anything else it was a disaster I'm affraid.

they are complete crap. tried one once, binned it

IVe got a set cant remeber the make lol, stopped using it, i now use my wall chaser mark the chaser mark some lines on the wall two cuts quick chase out job done quicker and easier , bit of practice with it and you can get almost perfect chases ,back box size

Ditto the thread consensus.

I have one floating round the back of the motor, and cannot remember last time I used it. Great idea, rotten practice. As all the guys have said, works fine on Thermalite, and junks everything else.

Hi guys, is it worth investing in Armegs back box sinker [with the new type cutter] or are they just a gimmick?

No they are crap. But if you insist on buying one you can have mine for £30 plus postage. i have the single box version with the rotary cutter and 6mm drill bit and wide chisel. Its not done much work and is in good nick.

Cheers............Howard

I have to agree with the general consenus here fella. I tried using one on a rewire in a pre-war house, and it was just crap!!! No, I'm afraid that I'll stick with the 5.5mm SDS and stitch drill it, then use a scutch piece.
