there's no way they're disabled anyway. nobs.

That really is truly disgusting !
How anyone can voluntarily eat at MacDonalds is beyond me.

How do you know its maccies... it might be BK??? or am I talking rubbish again...
I like MacDonalds every now and then...

One in my high street. Kicked mother out, she went to bank and I stayed in the car.

Other outside doctors while I picked up prescription.

If there were legitimate parking spots I would have used them!

I once parked in a disabled unit at tesco's whilst shopping with the missus.

I was with the 'missus' putting up with her motor mouth, getting blamed for everything & preparing myself for a hour shop.

So, i think that warrants short term disability. Justified, i think.

I once spray-canned a wheelchair motif onto the side of a Jag when he wouldn't move for me to park there (legitimately with a blue badge)............. he was abusive and obviously a car salesman. I waited for a while then nipped back with my can. I would have loved to see him explain that to his boss! :wheelchair:

I take it he didnt have a disabled badge and you required the space because of a severe disability? ..... I raise the issue because I had a father with a Blue badge who could walk just the same as a fully abled person but the system provided a blue badge. He could also walk quite happily around 18 holes of a golf course!

EDIT: Sorry Im on my hobby horse of disabled badges and who qualifies for them!

Yes I was taking my then husband who has MS and is a wheelchair user. I had to park on double yellow lines (legally) but I was spitting venom at the time.

As a Civil Enforcement Officer (part time) as well as a spark, I see everything that goes on. We are quite lenient compared to a lot of councils, and I always give people the chance to move before booking them. The thing that really winds me up is the amount of blue badge misuse that goes on, the whole system really is a joke. Caught a bloke the other day using his dead mother's blue badge. But I was still the bad guy (as always). We have started doing prosecutions now for this but it's still rife.

Didn't realise you were a traffic warden kingeri....do you look in the mirror with your outfit on, and say i am an enforcement officer then pull a mean look?

I would lol.

In that case I apologise .... you are one of the rare users of the blue badge system that truely deserves it. Probably one of the 10%!

I used to and still do occasionally work with disabled people.

It drives me nuts when all the disabled spots are taken up by lazy $"^&%"s.
Funny they all seem to go deaf when you point out the error of their ways.

last time i parked in a "normal " bay at the local tesco, i could not open the van door without hitting the adjacent car. when are these car park designers going to realise that it's not only disabled customers that need to get in and out of their vehicles?

Jesus.didn't expect so many replies on this!
haven't been on all day. just gone 8.30pm and I've only been home 45mins.had a heck of a long day :-(
and for all that questioned it I went to KFC for lunch! can't stand McDonalds.

I was in a supermarket once with my daughter when she was small and in a baby seat, you have to open the door wide and have your arse sticking out to get them out of the damn things so a normal space is too small, anyway saw a woman pull up in the parent and kiddie spot, so I just opened my window and said, excuse me you appear to have forgotten your children, ready for a stand off, to my suprise she said sorry I did not realise and moved her car.....

I know my old man took the p after my granda karked it, surely these things should just be bar code and scan by now, not some 5 year old play-a-way clock (shows my age). Problem solved overnight?

How would that stop people using someone else's badge? At present we can check the serial numbers and can detect if the badge is cancelled or the badgeholder deceased, but the only way to catch people using a live persons badge is to be there when they park.

Fair enough, I'm too used to the mark of Caine, but can't people just say "ah but I'm running an errand for the badge holder". you obviously know a lot more of the ins and outs?

But doesn't that only apply on public roads, it does not apply to say supermarket car parks....

That's my girl - a real "couldn't-give-two hoots " Pikey.

She's the nearest thing you'll ever get to a Geordie bloke with t!ts

NOW you see why I just love her so much !!!!

It takes real guts to admit to something like that !

I'm one of the nice ones.....honest!

I've got nothing but good things to say about my local TW.
If I park somewhere daft he'll come and find me and ask me to move or find out how long I'll be there.

I've known him to spend nearly an hour trying to find the owner of a vehicle parked in a really stupid place before issuing a ticket.

If I need to park on DY and see him nearby I'll go see him and ask if it's O.K.
The answer is always a friendly one :)

He is NOT a Traffic Warden - he is a Civil Enforcement Officer (part time) !!!

As a Spark you should know the impotence of using the correct terminology !!

She hasn't got it any more .. she gave it to me.

I am the proud owner of probably the only Toyota MK2 MR2 with a blue disabled badge stuck in the windscreen !!
