Hi Everyone,

I'm going to train to be a electrician at college in September and was wondering what the best direction to head in afterwards is to earn the best wage i possibly can?

Thanks in advance!

Hi and Welcome to the forum, regarding earning the most money if you are doing the correct courses and going the correct route to become an Electrician then you won't have to worry about it for quite a while because you will be a minimum 3 years in college and will be doing an apprenticeship and then will probably need to be with a good electrician for a further 2 years then you might be ready to be set free. Then you can start to earn decent money.

You can check the JIB website for rates for all grades for this and coming years. If you are not with a JIB company you can check the governmental websites for info on the national minimum wages.

anything from 0 when you go self employed and need to stock up on tools and testers, up to 1.5-2k a month when you got a good job with a good company...
