Discuss C&G 2396 good idea for me? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I took C&G 236 part 2, ONC and 16th edition in 1993, then went to work as an electrical mechanical technician on industrial machines for 15 years. Moved to Thailand 13 years ago and have been working a an electrical sole trader.

I am not an ECS card holder yet.

I am returning to UK next month and want to do as much training in Thailand before I leave.

I really want an ECS gold card and know what I must do:

1. Health and safety
2. 18th Edition
3. C&G 2391-52
4. AM2
5. C&G 2396 (not needed for CS gold card)

Questions

1. Can anyone recommend an online health and safety course that will satisfy ECS requirements?

2. thinking of doing 18th Edition with https://una-volta.co.uk/ any thoughts?

3. Want to do C&G 2396 next on 29th June with C&G 2396 Electrical Design Virtual Classroom Course - https://www.tradeskills4u.co.uk/courses/2396-vct-course I realize I am doing things in the wrong order, but have kept myself up to date, but have the time and enthusiasm to do it.

How useful is the C&G 2396 ?

4. At 50 years old how difficult will it be for me as as an ECS gold card holder to get work?

To be honest I wouldn't want to do the 2396 in a virtual classroom. It's not exactly an easy course and I think that you would benefit from proper interaction with the lecturer and class mates.

2396 is very intensive and the classroom was very helpful as we could bounce off each other, someone may ask a question you might not have even considered.
