made a similar one once ,used 2 right angle boxes and 4 right angle bends which i joined with a runner, didnt use sliding method ,just drilled a hole thro both boxes and put a bit of pipe thro it ,it was about 3ft wide and about 18 inches high and worked fine:)

no problem ,oh and it was strong lasted me over 10 years ,but i didnt use it every day mind ,if you make one drill 20mm holes for the pipe ,she likes a tight fit,

good luck with it

Bit of 20mm galv conduit & stepladder.
Have used in the past a bit of conduit across joists, nails infront & behind to stop conduit rolling & reel hangs between joists.

Check out a 'Rackateer'. They are made in Canada and sold buy QVS electrical who are on the net. They will hold small reels to very big SWA cable reels. I have always used these and would not change.

Thanks Easyfox, I'll look it up. I've made a temp one up with conduit but the Mk 1 version is not too stable but it was made in a hurry !!.

Cheers.

i am with you rum runner, made mine 4 years ago and still going. I used 25 mm tube for the drums to hang from as less bending action, plus it takes my weight as a emergency step, signed Giant Haystacks.
