all depends on how and where you are extending it. if it's in back of a socket outlet, then you only need to join 1 cable to another. crimps or wagos. might need to fit a deeper box, though.

well then you won't be a member of a scheme so you cannot do the job unless someone will take responsibility for your work and certify it
 
sod it...if its kev kitchen that its for...then he`ll be happy with the ends twisted together...
oh and if the knockout box is too shallow...never mind, just make the joint outside of it...plaster it into the wall.....
voltage will dissapear from the wall as soon as the plaster dries.....
