Ah Ah.. very good the head is fed from above so is upside down.

It must be doubling up as the gas meter fairy cos thats just not there at all... I dont even know if the feed is connected. The place has been empty for ages..I will check with the DNO and find out.

You can't assume it is pme, some properties don't have an earth provided by DNO. Check with them first, but pme has to be installed on the local system, it's not just a matter of linking n & e. If no cover on cut-out, get dno to check as an emergency call, especially if it is live.

Not according to some advice I was given by a local DNO engineer, convert it yourself, most cabled supplies (not TT) will be PME'd somewhere along its route to your house.

This was from only past experience when a house in the middle of nowhere past firm working for refurbishing had TT, now my boss at the time would not pay for a time delay RCD upfront for the sub-main went to neighbours down the lane and they had PME so got upgrade.

I ---- you not; I was working on a property, and had a local DNO engineer over to look at service head (TN-S). I asked about conversion to PME, he said to do it myself as it would be weeks before they got round, just a case of connecting the earthing conductor into the neutral terminal, demonstrated it to me. He also said it was probably PME out in the road, 'cos when they repair a cable, its always done as PME.

I left it as was
