So I have completed the NAPIT LCL level 3 in dwellings course, but from what I have figured NAPIT are ----, all I’m waiting for is the on site assessment, I was told on the phone that I can sign work off with this and then told at the college that I can’t, they said theyd speak but they never did so I spoke to the manager who said I can sign off with it,(how ever, it doesn’t Brim me with confidence). Does anyone have any experience with this? Do I need a 2392/1 aswell? Or is a domestic installer ok without that?

Never heard of a dwellings napit course

is this to get your part pee sorted

It's a sort of napit domestic installer, but you need to have access to a competent mentor to complete.

To the op

There is actually no requirement to have any qualifications to sign off things like EIC, MEW, or EICR, the requirement is to be competent.

How you achieve and demonstrate competency is usually via a series of courses and training.

But ultimately competence is very dependent on experience and knowledge, so even if you have fantastic experience and knowledge in one or perhaps two areas (such as domestic, or industrial) this doesn't mean you are competent in other areas (such as street lighting).

However, if you are in England, then part p applies, and in this case notification to the council may be needed.

Again it is merely competency that is required, but the process introduced by the schemes mean that you must be a full member of that scheme to use their notification process.

Being a member of a scheme is not contingent on being competent, merely on paying the fees and getting through their entry requirements.

Hi

Out of interest Where did you do the LCL L3 and what was the cost?

To Join the NAPIT scheme I believe you need the testing qualification and 18th edition too

What is dwellings course? What was the purpose of it? Is it an electrical course based solely on dwellings? I've never heard of it

Cave Dwellers Tree Dwellers

Sometimes I think these courses are just made up to make some fast cash

What is to 'Sign Off Work' ? Do you mean just to issue a certificate ? Or do you mean to notify building control Via PartPee
