well i have always thought if theirs a problem i can solve it! picked up brocken plastic no way of fixing!next double sided sticky tape that i just have in tool case, kept falling off! next look at fixing, .............why is that termination burnt....! transformer gone! thank god!exit on the left cheers

You can normally buy the bulb holders, they'll be either T8 or T12's. the old ones normally pop out the fitting and new ones push back in, sounds like you need a new fitting any way though.

Well if the ballast is faulty, the wiring/terminations burned and then obviously the bit you broke, sounds like a complete new fitting might be in order.

next problem i have, after this fixed their other light by putting in starter and new tube they supplied, also put back diffuser they took out.total time 1 hour they asked if i cou.ld give a quote on new double flourescent and i didn't have a clue so said i would post it tommorow.
how should i go about charging?
i thought 50 for call out and then price for light fitting pluss labour what you think?

I'm not qualified to help you with pricing, where I am it's considered poor form to charge the customer for stuff we break :)

Seriously just work out you materials + mark-up + hourly rate and give them a number.

Fifty quid just to change a starter and tube which they supplied? Bit steep especially where it is, remember you can get a lot more work from somewhere like this.
over charge and you'll get non and a bad name.

i meen as they are asking for a quote on replacing burn't out light fitting pluss i have been their an hour before . do i send them a bill for 50 for work done, or put a quote in use it as they have called me out for a quote and
lose it to someone and get nothing?

Personally I wouldn't charge for the first part, charge them for a new fitting, add a little bit more to the part if you like.
