Like DaveSparks I still refer to a 1930’s electrical encyclopaedia. The laws of physics don’t change.

I had a nightmare the other night.
My Stubbses had got soaked or something and were a congealed mess. Totally ruined. Distraught I was!

Whoops!

They appear on eBay every so often, mine came from there and are in pretty good nick, only about 2 pages missing.

On the subject of Stubbs, I think my copy may not be the most recent, can anyone confirm which version was the last? Mine has blue covers with a pylon on the spine of each volume and all B&W plates, but I have seen an edition which has different pictures on the spine of each volume and some colour plates, I assume this is more recent?

Mines the same as yours, if there is another edition I'd like to get my hands on it. Colour plates would date it post war, maybe the 50's

You’ve got to love the frontice page.

“A handbook for the working electrician.”

Handbook? Its 1500+ pages in four hard backed volumes!

My copies are the 'New Encycl...' with different pics on the spines, Red/crimson covers and colour plates and pull outs. Can't see a publication year.
Got the dust covers as well.

Dave and I have looked for the date on the copies we have to no avail. There’s some clues in the text.
I’ve just had a quick look and I can’t find an ISBN number. That would have given a precise date.

When I’m bored I’ll look for Waverly the publishers.

Out of interest Archy, how many pages in the “new” edition?

1725D then the final index.

And youngsters of today are lost and confused with <500 pages of Regs! :smilielol5:

Aye and you can bet your left ------- that one or the other - or both - of those missing pages will be the very ones you need!

In my best Jazz voice...Nice! :-)
