Hi,

This might be a bit of a stupid question, but if I’m wanting to join T&E 16mm2 cable to 16mm2 SWA in an outdoor junction box which connectors would I use? The Wago ones for example I’m seeing only seem to go up to 6mm2, unless I’m missing something obvious.

My reason for asking is I’m planning a power supply to a garage which will have and air compressor, welder etc plus an EV charger. I will be consulting my uncle in law who is a qualified spark, and hopefully getting him to do the work, however he is a busy man and would be impressed that I’d done my research piecing some of it together.

Thanks

Fraser

First question is why would you want to make a join at all? SWA all te way is preferable.

Is it not easier to route T&E through the house from the CU to outside rather than SWA in the house? My previous house we fished T&E 6mm2 through the walls as the spark at the time said it would be more difficult to fish through the SWA straight from the house’s CU. The current house I’m potentially looking to buy has solid floors so can’t go underneath.
