Ted has posted on the open forum about the overspend already of the Fit budget (450 million instead of the projected 200 million ) - is this the final straw? I can see a mad rush to July 1st once customers have got wind of this and a notional 5p/kwh after that using emergency powers - unless someone puts some serious money in the pot pretty damn quickly.

I don't want to be too negative on the open forum - customers are hard enough to convince at the minute!

It's dead and will only get deaderer as time goes on. Relegated to the realms of 'interesting little sideline' until our MCS runs out I think.

I'm getting very little work out of PV - virtually nothing from domestic.

Others seem to be doing ok - but for how long? I'm worried that the industry is drawing one huge long terminal breath.

Makes me feel better reading this knowing im not on my own - i think it stuffed TBH, ive not had a enquiry for ages, other installers seem to be lapping it up -

I'm hoping that larger scale solar will be a market for us but I'm more and more worried about the domestic market. It's become to difficult to compete with the crash, bang, whallop firms.

Larger scale installs are beyond, I would imagine, the know-how of these monkeys so I'm hoping that will work out.

I getting plenty of of calls around 5-8 leads per day. so people are intrested two sign ups this week !!!

6 site visits this week, 2 going ahead next week, 3 probables, 2 needing significant energy efficiency work doing but all withing our capabilities.

we're not exactly rushed off our feet, but getting a steady trickle of serious inquiries. We're also having some interest from going back to old 'maybe' customers and requoting with the new prices.

tbh I'm glad it's just a steady trickle as we're needing to rework all our systems to work out how to incorporate this EPC and energy saving stuff into it, work out how to cost that up etc. so everything's taking a bit longer than it was before.

we're being helped quite a bit by some good reviews on the which local site apparently, though as you have to be a which member to view them I've not seen the reviews myself, but it's good to see our approach paying off. It also helps that there are some complete muppets around still trying to charge £13k for a 3kWp system, as the customers are very keen to sign on the dotted line when they get our quote through and realise we also know what we're talking about.

so no, I don't see it as a death knell, just that we've all got to work a little harder to get the message out that it's still worth while, as well as pricing the jobs so that they make financial sense for the customers.

I use a combination of things not just adwords.

I am also listed high in the generic listing . page one on 5-6 keywords .

I noticed you are in gereric list here n there too dansk

The firm I sub to don't have much ,a few enquiries its sitting at around a job a week although they do have a couple of 50's lined up but I'm not seeing any of this relying solely on normal electrical work now
I think the gov is content to let Pv become dormant re the fits budget overspend and are expecting the green deal to be the answer to all our problems ,i think it'll create a few problems myself ,but then most Uk governments seem to like causing problems with the blame on others and then look to be solving them nearer election time, ie we've created new jobs etc .
