I am looking at a project to fit remote controls to Dimplex heaters. The heaters are fine but they and all of their controls are now obsolete an unsupported by Dimplex. So i am thinking of fitting small Wi-Fi operated relays inside the casing to achieve Setback by switching the pilot line on.
I can't find any good technical information about how the (discontinued) Dimplex Piolt Line controllers work, but I have seen info about how the Dimplex controllers work using off, +ve half-wave, -ve half-wave, and on to control the Pilot Line. Also the installers manuals say that the Pilot Line is 240v with a max current of 100mA.
So, could I connect a Switched Live with a 4.7k in-line resistor to the Pilot Line and I use this to switch the heater into Setback?
